Summer Activities

Staying in Oz is a perfect location for those who either enjoy an active, exciting and exhilarating holiday or for those who are just happy to “chill” in the heart of the breathtaking Alps.

It is difficult for the average tourist to gather all of the information and potential of the area so, with several years of holidaying there with our children, I would like to share with you some of our recommendations.

Oz Station

Swimming/Gym/Sauna: There is a free indoor swimming pool, sauna and gym in the residence for the exclusive use of Chalet des Neiges’ guests.

Tennis: There are two outdoor Tennis Courts in the village which can be booked in the Tourist Office and hired free of charge. Equipment is not provided.

Crazy Golf: There is a fun course in the village.  Putters and balls can be hired for a small charge from the Tourist Office.

Climbing Wall: There is an indoor climbing wall underneath the Tourist Office. No equipment is provided.

Archery: Archery is put on 2 or 3 times per week.  See Tourist Office for details

Fun Activities: The Tourist Office puts on various events, look at their programme for details.

Mountain Biking: Mountain Biking is extreme but exhilarating.  Take the ski runs, wait for the snow to melt then take a bike up the ski lifts and cycle down the runs!  Suitable bikes can be hired from “Sport 2000” but should be reserved in advance.  Tel: 00 33 4 76 80 72 78.
If you want a guide or lesson these are available in Alpe d’Huez , MCF . Tel: 00 33 4 76 80 31 69  or 00 33 7 60 57 45 08 www.alpedhuezbikes.com

Tree Climb: Climb across the tree canopy in the village in a new tree climbing activity for 18€ per person.

Cinema: Films are shown regularly - in French.

There are a number of activities within an easy stroll of the apartment, all of which are advertised by the Oz Tourist Board. www.oz-en-oisans.com.  There are plenty of walks from the apartment or via the lifts.

Also, you could try walking on the glaciers in La Grave and see the spectacular ice caves.  Guides can also take you for more challenging glacier walks in the Ecrins National Park .
